Extensive CCTV. Not enough eyes.
- A multi-unit refinery with extensive existing camera coverage, but monitoring depended on control-room operators watching screens manually.
- Safety and security events — PPE gaps, restricted-zone entries — were often confirmed only after the fact, on playback.
- The site needed stronger visibility into process units and hazardous areas without a disruptive, ground-up surveillance rebuild.
The Approach
NexView layered on the existing camera network.
- SMEC assessed the refinery's existing cameras and network before recommending any changes — Discover → Assess → Design, the same process used on every NexView project.
